June Mariposa Painting

The original painting for the November edition of Mariposa Mail Club. 

This painting is inspired by the start of Summer! It features a torta sandwich, a mango flavored Jarritos soda, an avocado, and a Luna loteria card. All on top of a red picnic blanket on a grassy field.

I’ve always wanted to have an outside picnic with the classic red gingham blanket. However, I’ve refrained because it’s way too hot in South Texas and I'm also way too afraid of spiders to take chances sitting in the grass lol.

The painting shows a picnic blanket on the grass with a torta, avocado, mango Jarritos soda, and loteria card of La Luna. The warm feeling of the sun on your skin, delicious and savory food, and playing loteria with your family. 

I hope this piece reminds you of good childhood memories while you create new ones.
